Here's the new version of food pyramid from KKM!
KKM memperkenalkan Piramid Makanan Malaysia 2020 yang lebih baik berbanding Piramid Makanan Malaysia 2010 terdahulu.
Piramid makanan baru ini menekankan peningkatan pengambilan buah-buahan dan sayur-sayuran, sekurang-kurangnya 2-3 hidangan sehari.
Sebaliknya, pengambilan karbohidrat telah dikurangkan dari 55-75% pada tahun 2010 menjadi 50-65% pada tahun 2020 untuk peratusan purata pengambilan karbohidrat kita.
Hal ini kerana, pengambilan karbohidrat yang berlebihan akan menyebabkan kenaikan berat badan, obesiti, risiko kencing manis dan pelbagai lagi komplikasi kesihatan.
Jadi tiada lagi kekeliruan ke atas orang ramai mengenai sukatan pengambilan karbohidrat bagi gaya pemakanan yang sihat seperti piramid sebelumya; Karbohidrat berada di bawah sekali, menyebabkan ramai menganggap sukatan diperlukan adalah lebih banyak berbanding sayuran/buahan-buahan.

▶️ MOH introduced the Malaysian Food Pyramid 2020 which is better than the previous Malaysian Food Pyramid 2010.
Our new food pyramid emphasises an increase intake of fruits and veggies; at least 2-3 servings per day.
On the other hand, the intake of carbohydrates has been reduced from 55-75% in 2010 to 50-65% in 2020 for our average percentage of carbohydrates intake.
This is because, excessive carbohydrate intake will cause weight gain, obesity, risk of diabetes and various other health complications.
So there is no more confusion among the public about the carbohydrate intake scale for a healthy eating style like the previous pyramid. As the previous pyramid showed the Carbohydrate are at the bottom, leading many to assume that the required amount is more than the vegetables/fruits.
